Irrespective of what your notice says, it is very likely that your case has still actually not been transferred to NSC and is still in the CSC. I know because this is what has happened in my case. Just like yours, both mine and my spouse's applications were transferred to the CSC for data entry. Then we got notices saying our cases have been sent back to NSC. But apparently, only the 485 applications were supposedly sent back. The CSC issued EADs and APs for both of us.
IN the meanwhile, since the name typed on my receipt was incorrect, my attorney got the Senator's office involved. Now comes the punch line...according to the information provided by the USCIS to the Senator's office, irrespective of what the notices said, only my spouse's 485 application was actually sent to the NSC. My application is still in the CSC for some reason.
Also, according to sources that my Attorney has, it appears that right now the USCIS is in a "meltdown". They have no idea how many applications they received, where the applications are, and what stage of processing each application is. This was in response to feelers my Attorney sent regarding the FP notices (since we have not received ours yet, RD for 485 is July 23rd). Apparently, the USCIS is in a state where they are absolutely not willing to commit to any timeframes about any applications. This is supported by the vague information that they have put up on the website wherein, they are indicating that they received 2.5 million applications (for all services) in July and August as compared to 1.2 million last year and that they plan to hire an additional 1500 employees to share the workload...
So in a nutshell, I wouldn't worry about your not receiving the FP notice. I am willing to bet, that for some reason all the dependants 485 applications were sent to NSC while the prime applicants are still being held at the CSC and it appears we are in the same, leaking, sinking boat!!
Hello I opened 2 SRs 4 weeks ago. Yesterday I got two notices from USCIS.
My wife got finger printing notice but my notice says that "USCIS will notify me of biometrics when the appointment is available". Its so weird. I'm the prime applicant. Anybody any ideas? You can file 485 with either of the I140 as long as the position is open and the companies provide a letter stating the permanant nature of the job.
For interfiling, one can request the priority date porting in any of these:
- when you file the 2nd I140. You can send a copy of the first one and request to use that date.
- when you file the 485, you can request to use the earlier priority date.
- After you file 485, you can send a request to use the earlier priority date.
In all these, you need a copy of the I140 approval notice. If there is no way to get the copy, you can possibly try with a copy of the receipt or a copy of the approval status from online - check with a lawyer.
When you file the 485 or the 2nd I140, if the same A# is used, one may get the earliest priority date automatically as the previous poster has mentioned.
Note: This is not a legal advice. Please consult a lawyer.

I am still confused as my question is if I file the new I140 from new employer and for some reason the date is not ported from current employer's I140 date, will I be able to file I485?, For your info, my I485 is not yet filed with uscis with current employer.

Applied at tsc on 2aug card prodn. ordered on 23rd oct. But I have received 3 lud's after that on 485 and 2 on 765, my 140 is still pending at TSC applied on 29 of july.
can anybody guess what is it for?

IV core team itself is not active these day.
Read my other post about what IV core is doing currently. Also, just FYI, we had a conference call last nite which went form 9.00 PM to 11.15 PM EST. And this was not the only call this week.
We have already started looking beyond the CIR and so has QGA. Aman and Shilpa went to an important House Related event in DC and met with some of the house representatives (in person) whose names you see in immigration articles every single day!
So, in a nutshell, I am happy to see the initiative by Ghost to take IV further. Please support him instead of trying negate it!
Do not forget that the only other option to fighting for our rights is to keep quiet and suffer daily for years. There is not a single person in the core team and nor many members in IV who are willing to give up before a good fight.

If you (or her ) do not get the card by 2nd week, make an infopass appointment and get the PP stamped.
I received email from USCIS this morning for my wife I-485 i.e Card Ordered for Production. I am the Primary applicant, but i am still waiting for my turn. My PD is Sep 2004 & EB2.
We booked our tickets to India before we received this email. I am travelling in 3rd week of Sep. We both have new AP's. So is i have to wait here in USA to receive the Card or can i proceed with my actual plan?. Can anybody share their expertise?.

I am writing on behalf of a close friend who is too worried to write it for himself.
Case:
He is a July 2007 filer with PD of Nov 2003 and recently had his I485 rejected. Reason - I140 denied and no appeal. However, when he checks his I140 status, it says, its still pending. He had received an RFE on I140 in October 2007 about Employment status and he had submitted all the required evidence. He also is in the same company that filed his labor. The only change he ever made is moving to a new place in the same city. Does anyone have a similar experience? What needs to be done apart from consulting a good immigration attorney? Your advice will be much appreciated.
Well. Even if I140 was denied for no good reason, and your friend files an appeal and it eventually gets approved, his priority date must be current when he re-submits his I485. So, this way or another, he needs to get I140 approved. I140 appeals take a long time. Maybe, he can try to re-do I140? That would be much faster and probably less expensive.

also in same situation. Recently did a interfile from EB3 to EB2 ( diff employer ). No update yet. There is a soft LUD on my I 485 but no update in status. Did any one ported recently ?

Hindsight is 20-20, she regrets sometimes because its so difficult now (back then in the 70's they had given her a GC when she landed at the airport with all sponsorship documents), but I tell her whats done is done... they did what they thought was best at that point in time :) so no regrets!

When they say "Continued Heavy Demand", what does it mean? Howcome there can be demand with Older Priority Dates? Labor Substitution is no longer possible so there can't be new demand with Older PD. So howcome PD goes back? Does anybody have insight into that?

With all the labor certification being sold on or around June 2007, old labors started getting used up. These applications are probably trickling in during the course of the year, and may have seen a huge rush when they announced that they are going to make EB3 unavailable. Therefore, their earlier assumption that they can move forward was wrong. On the other hand, they probably totally messed up in counting the number of cases they already had on hand.
I dont agree to the continued "heavy demand" comment. What demand? Were they accepting applications when the queue was already closed for the year? If not, there is no case of "heavy demand", unless there was a bunch of applications around Dec02-Mar03 for China but as usual they used a 3 year old to count the number applications
